CrossFit 1808: Signal Lost

A pixelated portrait of a real person hits differently than a clean one. That friction is the point.

Overview

Printed in sand and white on a black crop tee. The front carries a left chest badge with the Ohio state outline, gym name, and a small American flag in sand. The back layers a halftone pixelated portrait of Lt. The digital glitch treatment gives the whole composition a signal disruption quality that feels current without losing the weight of what it's referencing.

Results

The pixel treatment on the portrait is a design risk that pays off. It makes the image feel both immediate and fading at the same time which is exactly the right tension for a memorial shirt. These murph shirts read as genuinely contemporary crossfit shirts while still carrying the day's full gravity.
