Mortar CrossFit: Murph Diagonal Flag
Murph is one day a year. The shirt lasts a lot longer. Mortar CrossFit made sure both were worth showing up for.
Overview
The back runs a large distressed American flag on a diagonal — stars field in muted blue at the top, faded red stripes cutting across the bottom — with "MURPH" printed through the center, "Honor the Fallen" underneath, and a bold 25 anchoring the lower right. The diagonal layout gives the whole thing some energy without going loud. Front keeps it simple with the gym name in a blocky military font across the chest. Everything is printed in a toned down palette on a military green tee, which was the right call — the colors work together instead of fighting each other.
Results
The goal was a Murph shirt that still looks good six months after Memorial Day. The muted palette and distressed flag treatment make these crossfit shirts feel more like a keepsake than a workout shirt. Members will reach for this one well into fall and nobody will have to ask where it came from.
