CrossFit 30004: Battle Cross

The Fallen Soldier memorial has one meaning. There is no other way to read it.

Overview

Printed in black on a heather stone tee. The front keeps the gym identity minimal — power button icon, gym name, three stars on the left chest. The back centers a detailed Fallen Soldier battle cross illustration — helmet, rifle, boots, American flag — with "MURPH" in bold bracketed type, the workout list in small spaced text, and "23" sitting large below a dashed rule. The stone garment softens the black without pulling any of the weight out of the imagery.

Results

The battle cross is one of the most loaded images in military culture and putting it on a Murph shirt is a deliberate choice. It shifts the shirt from athletic to memorial in a single illustration. These are the gym shirts people wear once a year on purpose and keep for the rest of their lives.
