Hustle Haus: Rust Portrait Edition
Hustle Haus does Murph to honor the man and mark the year. These gym shirts put the portrait and the workout on the same front panel and let the rust red ground do the rest.
Overview
Printed on a rust red tee, the front builds a layered composition around a detailed navy blue soldier portrait from the shoulders up, looking to the right. The full WOD lists in small navy type to the upper left: 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run. "MURPH" runs diagonally across the lower body of the illustration in large white type, with "25" in the same white stacked below it, both sitting on top of the portrait rather than around it. The back yoke carries the Hustle Haus wordmark in navy at the upper back, tone on tone and understated. The diagonal type treatment cutting across the portrait is the design move that makes this shirt feel current. It references the layered poster and streetwear graphic styles that have been trending in performance apparel, applied to a tribute that earns it. The rust red garment gives the navy and white palette the warmth it needs to avoid reading as cold or corporate. These are murph tshirts designed for a gym that brings real energy to everything it does.
Results
The diagonal "MURPH 25" cutting across the portrait gives this crossfit shirt a sense of motion and urgency that most tribute designs avoid. It looks like a shirt someone designed because they wanted to, not because they had to fill an order. Hustle Haus ended up with a Murph piece that holds the tribute and their gym identity in the same frame without one crowding the other out.
