Mystique 84: The Number Drop

Big numbers, bolder script. Mystique 84 leaned into their studio name and made it the whole show.

Overview

On a black youth tee, "84" fills most of the upper chest in oversized dark charcoal numerals — large enough to read as a design element rather than just a number. Overlapping the bottom of the "4," a brushstroke circle in teal frames "Mystique" in a loose, energetic script with ink splatter details that add texture and movement. The two-tone approach — dark subdued numbers up top, bright teal script below — creates a graphic that reveals itself in layers the longer you look at it. Front center placement lets the full scale of the composition land the way it needs to.

Results

Using the studio number as the primary design element is a smart move because it turns a brand detail into a visual statement. The oversized numeral treatment gives this dance studio shirt an athletic streetwear feel that kids actually gravitate toward. The teal script pops just enough to pull the eye down and complete the story without fighting the numbers for attention.
