Murph 26: Split Face

Half portrait, half type — the design splits right down the middle and somehow says more than either side could on its own.

Overview

Printed in charcoal and sage on a natural cream tee, the front bisects the face portrait vertically with a bold sage stencil bar running "MURPH" top to bottom, and "2026" in large stacked numerals to the right. The left side of the face bleeds soft into the shirt while the right side is cut clean by the type bar — a layout technique that feels current without losing the gravity of the subject. The gym logo sits small and tone matched on the upper back, understated as it should be.

Results

The split portrait concept is one of the more design-forward approaches in the Murph tshirt space and it works because the execution is controlled. This is not a loud gym shirt — it is the kind of piece that reads as considered and intentional, which tends to be what people actually hold onto year after year. Clean, modern, and built to last.
