War Hawk Community Fitness: Born Free Edition

War Hawk Community Fitness does Murph to honor the people who made sure we could. These gym shirts put the whole story on the back and do not leave anything out.

Overview

Printed on a sand tan tee, the back is the main event. "MURPH" runs large at the top in heavy distressed slab serif type with "25" in olive green below it. A large vintage eagle illustration with wings spread wide dominates the center, rendered in dark charcoal ink with a stars and stripes shield on its chest. Surrounding the eagle are layered text elements: "Born Free," "God Bless America," "We Honor the Fallen" in a curved banner, and the full Murph WOD listed on the right side, 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run. The front left chest carries the War Hawk eagle barbell logo and wordmark in the same dark charcoal, clean and compact. The sand garment gives the vintage illustration room to breathe and the multi-element back design reads like a broadside poster from another era. These murph tshirts pack more content than any other entry in the portfolio and every piece of it is intentional.

Results

Putting the WOD on the back alongside "We Honor the Fallen" and "Born Free" gives this crossfit shirt layers that most people will keep discovering over time. It is a lot to read and that is the point. War Hawk Community Fitness ended up with a Murph shirt that functions as a tribute document as much as a gym shirt, which is about as high as the bar can go.
