Overview

Printed on a heather navy tee, the front keeps it clean: bold red block letters spelling MURPH with the year set below in white. No clutter, no extra graphics. The back is where it opens up. A red vertical stripe runs down the center with the phrase "Iron Sharpens Iron" rotated along it, topped by a small American flag. The vertical back placement is uncommon and deliberate. It draws the eye down the spine of the shirt the way a finish line pulls you forward. Red, white, and navy on a heather ground give it patriotic weight without overdoing it.

Results

The goal was a murph shirt that felt earned rather than handed out. Members can wear this as a crossfit shirt any day of the year and it still reads as something worth holding onto. These custom gym shirts tend to travel well outside the gym too — cookouts, ball games, anywhere Memorial Day still means what it's supposed to mean.
