Bluff City Strength Co.
Memphis gave this collection a name with real ground under it. Bluff City points to the high bluffs above the Mississippi River, but it also carries the sound of the city: blues, soul, rock and roll, bridges, grit, and heat. For Bluff City Strength Co., the goal was to build gym apparel that felt rooted in Memphis without turning the collection into a postcard.
Memphis As A River And Music Language
A city built on sound, water, bridges, and grit.
Sitting on the Mississippi River, the bluffs help give Memphis one of its strongest nicknames. Bluff City is not a made-up phrase. It is tied to the land, the river, and the way the city has always looked outward from a higher edge.
The city’s music history gave the collection another layer. Memphis carries blues, soul, gospel, rock and roll, Sun Studio, Beale Street, and the sound of artists who turned local style into something the rest of the world could recognize.
That combination shaped the design system. The circular river mark uses the bridge, skyline, water, and motion to create a central gym crest. The “45” weight plate detail gives the mark a record-label feel. The script and block type mix old athletic apparel with music-poster language.
The palette was kept bright but grounded: river blue, Beale Street yellow, navy, mint, grey, and cream. It gives the collection enough color to feel Memphis without losing the cleaner athletic structure needed for a gym.
The result is a collection that uses Memphis as more than a location. It uses the city as a rhythm: circular, loud, local, and built to move.
The Collection brings the full system together: river crest tees, coach pieces, beanies, joggers, hooded training tops, raglans, Memphis state marks, and a blue / yellow / mint palette built around Bluff City.
Concept + Design Rationale
The concept starts with the Bluff City name. Instead of building only around music, the collection uses the physical city first: the bluffs, the Mississippi River, the bridge, and the skyline.
From there, the music language adds personality. The circular crest was designed to feel like a gym badge and a record label at the same time. The “45” details nod to classic singles without making the piece feel like a costume.
The apparel system gives the gym more than one voice. The cream tee is the clean local crest. The black raglan is the stronger training piece. The mint coach tee makes the staff role clear. The beanie and joggers turn the same brand language into useful everyday gear.
The goal was to make Bluff City Strength Co. feel like it belongs in Memphis: tied to the river, built with rhythm, and strong enough to stand on its own.
Color System
Navy Blues
Primary base for type, beanies, and structure
Bridge Blue
Water, skyline, and athletic contrast
Beale Yellow
Music energy and warm Memphis highlight
River Mint
A viable color option for soft apparel
Concrete Grey

Bluff City Crest Tee
The cream tee gives the collection its clearest local mark, using the river crest, bridge detail, skyline, and BC Strength back hit as the main everyday piece.
Bridge City Raglan
The black and blue raglan turns the circular crest into a stronger training piece, using the sleeve color and side placement to add motion without overloading the shirt.
River Coach Tee
The mint coach tee keeps the staff role clear with large vertical type, while the Tennessee flag mark gives the back print a clean local anchor.
Grind Light Hoodie
Tough like concrete neutral grey hoodie lightweight enough for all seasons
Blue Note Joggers
The blue joggers carry the Bluff City Strength mark down the leg, turning the lower-body piece into part of the full Memphis system.
BC Strength Beanie
The navy beanie uses a printed version of the BC Strength mark, giving the collection a finished accessory that feels clean, local, and easy to wear.
UNITEE Design Lab
Concept cars for custom gym apparel.
The UNITEE Design Lab works like concept cars for gym apparel. We start with an idea, then turn it into a real concept people can see: a shirt, hat, hoodie, uniform set, or full merch drop. Then we explain the thinking behind it. Why this garment? Why this graphic? Why this placement? Why this kind of finish? The work is built to inspire, test new ideas, and give our clients better custom gym apparel before they ever place an order.
For larger fitness brands, multi-location gyms, event groups, and enterprise clients, the Design Lab is where brand kits and full merch programs take shape. We build the look, then we print the gear. That means the same team can help shape the brand story, plan the apparel, design the graphics, and produce the final pieces.
For an independent gym owner, the value is simple: you get the benefit of our research and development without needing to buy a full brand package. Your order may be a small run of tees, hats, hoodies, or event shirts, but the thinking behind it comes from a team that studies gym merch every day.
